2017 CSA Share Offerings

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) when becoming a CSA shareholder you are part of 3rd day farm. You have a vested interest. You are supporting naturally grown local produce, meats and so much more. We want you to enjoy the farm as much as we do; after all, you are helping to build it better. What does your money do? It buys soil block mix, seeds, compost, rock powder amendments, sea kelp, bees, mushroom equipment, non-gmo feeds for the Alpaca’s, cows, goats, chickens, rabbits and pigs. It buys passive heat sources, fencing materials, soap making supplies etc. It allows 3rd Day Farm the means to bless needy families. We truly believe God blessed us with 3rd Day Farm so we could bless others, not only with fresh food but with knowledge to be sustainable in our local community. Give a man a salad and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to grow a salad and he will know how to feed his family for a lifetime. Sometimes it is helpful to know how other people handle things at their farm. This section tells you how we do things here. BUT, before I begin, I want to share with you a passage out of the Bible:
Proverbs 27:23-27 – “Be you diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds. For riches are not for ever: and does the crown endure to every generation? The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. And you shall have goats’ milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the maintenance for your maidens.”
I’ve heard MANY people quote the END of this verse “And you shall have goats’ milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the maintenance for your maidens.” They are missing the beginning of HOW you obtain these blessings!
Notice the KEY of this PASSAGE: “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds”. Take proper care of your animals and they will be able provide the nourishment you desire for your family and friends.
The verse goes on, HOW to care for them: “The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.”
It also issues a subtle warning if you neglect your responsibility of properly caring for these animals: “For riches are not for ever: and does the crown endure to every generation?”
Adam and Eve were our first farmers and they followed Genesis 1:11-12
This verse tells us we are not to use GMO’s or alter the seeds. “yielding seed after its kind” This is why we try to use 100% heirloom seeds and fruit stock.

“The Farm” CSA Share runs 18 weeks. 2017 shares start June 2nd. and run thru September 29th.

Each share will consist of various produce each week. It will also include 5 pounds of beef, pork, chicken, rabbit or chevon. Each week you will receive a different meat. If you don’t like pork we will substitute chicken etc.and one dozen non-gmo free-range eggs.
Each month your share will also include the following when in season and availability: Goats milk soap, (your choice of scents) honey, maple syrup, shitake and oyster mushrooms, flower bouquets. 1-bushel canning tomatoes in season and 1- bushel potatoes. The potatoes and canning tomatoes will depend on growing and weather conditions not in our control. We will also include 1-gallon raw milk per week with contract (goat or cow). This is included in “The Farm” share at no additional cost. On average, a basic share is a 35% savings from farmer’s market prices. “The Farm” shareholders can also buy extra produce, soap, milk, mushrooms, alpaca yarn, and meats when available. We have also planted heirloom Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, apple trees, Pear trees, and Elderberries, thanks to our CSA shareholders. God Bless each one!
